The Polsen inline XLR microphone preamplifier is designed to add +30 dB of clean gain to low-output dynamic and ribbon microphones before their signals reach a microphone preamp, mixer, console, or audio interface. This additional gain helps achieve stronger microphone levels without relying on excessive downstream preamp gain.

Balanced 3-pin XLR connections include a female microphone input and male microphone output. The balanced signal path is designed to maintain clean audio and minimize interference, including when longer XLR cable runs are required.

The preamplifier operates from 36 to 50 V phantom power supplied by a compatible audio interface, mixer, console, or microphone preamp, so no batteries or separate external power supply are required. Phantom power does not pass through to the connected microphone, helping protect sensitive ribbon microphones.

Its durable metal construction is designed for portable and repeated use in recording studios, podcasting setups, streaming applications, ENG interviews, live performances, and mobile audio rigs. The unit provides a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, 22-kilohm impedance, and low-noise operation.
